Southdale - Woodside - Manor Park - Crichton Park

Southdale, Woodside, Manor Park and Crichton Park are family neighbourhoods within what used to be the city limits of Dartmouth, or what is considered parts of “Old Dartmouth”.

Within the area is Mic Mac Mall, Dartmouth Crossing Shopping and Dining Park and Brightwood Golf Course, which is renowned for its rolling fairways, small undulating greens, amazing views of Halifax Harbour and located in the heart of Dartmouth.

Homes that can be found in this area are large older Victorian styles, single-family homes built post war, larger upscale homes and lakefront luxury homes. A very sought after area is the Crichton Park and Manor Park areas.

Dartmouth, known as the “City of Lakes”, is true to its name and boasts several pristine lakes including Lake Banook, Oathill, Penhorn, Little Albro, Maynard’s and Martin’s Lake. Conveniently located close to the McDonald and MacKay bridges, Mic Mac Mall, Lake Banook, Zatzman Sportsplex and the Brightwood Golf Course. The area is also home to the Dartmouth General Hospital, NSCC Waterfront Campus, many schools, commercial shopping district, and tennis club, making it an ideal location for the modern urban-dweller.
